Technology Interview

Through the interview of middle and high school students, I found some interesting things about teenagers usage of technology. Of students surveyed:

• 71% access the Internet mostly from home
• 85% access the Internet using a desktop computer; however about 30% also use other means such as laptops, cell phone or game system
• Majority talk on their cell phone for < 1hour; however about 30% spend more than 5 hours a day texting
• Majority spend less than an hour a day using computer for homework, while 100% have at least a desktop computer of which 85% have Internet connection
• More than 50% do not know about or use blogs or podcasts and about 40% use Wikis from home for both personal and academic reasons
